This book was purchased a long time ago at the recommendation of John Waters, who liked it so much he bought a palette of copies to use as Christmas presents the year it came out. It’s billed as the secret diary of the kid Michael Jackson got sued for molesting, as painstakingly transcribed by a Mexican tabloid journalist and supplemented with testimonials from the members of the Neverland housekeeping staff, but once you get a couple pages in certain elements start to tax your credulity. Like how all the interview subjects’ names contain subtle misspellings, or how despite being written in English the book has never been published anywhere outside of Mexico, or how all the “diary” passages are in the third person and read like Mexican tabloid journalism. Yep, Mikey passed away a few hours ago. Very sad news indeed. Our sincerest condolences go to Bubbles and Uri Geller and all who cared most about Michael.
