There is a problem with these guys, the BNP, extremist Christians and all people with beliefs formed on the basis of misinformation and an unquestioning attitude towards their respective ideologies. This problem becomes significant if groups of this nature are allowed to propagate their modus operandi to people who are at risk of weak mindedness (i.e young people, uneducated people etc).

I dont think that people who share the views of “Islam4UK” should have a significant say in anything to do with the policies of the UK, but I think they are an important minority voice in in our society. The reason why they are important is because they raise questions to the rest of the population on issues such “the nature of belief”, “immigration policy”, “racism” etc which should be part of society’s discourse if we are to achieve a better understanding of ourselves and improve policy. If people where educated to think actively and critically, and their needs were tended to effectively by government, groups such as this will never gain any traction here.

Just think in a few years time when muslims rule the country the Soham guy will have his own little harem. jay - without going into a breakdown of what constitutes a person and their beliefs, i think it’s safe to say that on the whole it is perhaps impossible to wholly agree with one particular ideology yet it’s human nature to want to belong to a group of sorts, no? also, much of it is in context with the times. and i think it’s safe to say that neither you nor i are experts and have studied the qur’an.

as for killing gay people, i think you’ll find that you don’t have to be muslim to hold that view. and things such as cutting off the hands of a thief are meant to act as deterrents.

You make a good point about the difficulty of assessing who is let into to the country and who isnt. Even though I consider myself liberal, hell…I am a immigrant myself (albeit European), I dont think that you should encourage or make it easy for Al Quaeda sympathizers to enter this country (or any European country). It is a problem to police the thoughts of people. I would probably side with a more open immigration policy vs a closed immigration policy but then increase spending on education with a view to facilitating cultural integration. I am aware that this has a fiscal cost but the immigrants should really have to contribute to society if they come to this or any other country.

This guy tried everything to keep my money, in court he claimed he was illiterate, yet he owned half the street, Mercedes, local curry house (which I heard from locals was found to have used dog food in there curry, after suspicions were raised by the amount of tins in their rubbish). The local Muslim comunity stuck up for this guy. I concluded that his Muslim faith was a load of shit. People like this I want out of my country.

Choudary is a dangerous man. But he’s simply a dissembling smokescreen for the far more dangerous men who lurk in the shadows. The British left, in particular, needs to wake up. These radicals have already created fifth columns in the UK/europe and they’re in it for the long haul. The young people of groups such as the UAF need to think hard about who they allign themselves with. Young gays, lesbians and women have no memory of what the UK was like 20 or 30 years ago and just how much ground we’ve gained and how much we stand to lose by appeasing Islamists. I really think that i need to search further into islam before tearing down an entire religion based on my own prejudices. perhaps in time i will believe this but this would require me to invest my own time in really understanding the facts about this religion. the truth is, my own prejudices colour my own opinion and until i can really take the time to take more than a surface glance at islam, i will not be able to make a well balanced judgement on the matter. I most likely put into google “what is islam + evil”, and got the quotes from a website dedicated to insulting islam. My problem is that i cant even carry a discussion on with myself well enough let alone a well versed discussion with other people. Maybe i should read what i have written previously and dwell on it for a bit before jumping to conclusions because as long as i look at evidence out of context and from people with a biased agenda against islam i can’t say that what i’m reading is what it represents. Maybe directly reading the source with accurate translations and commentary from people who kept record of the Quran rather than a particular translation and once again out of context and without providing the actual source.
