I was once a follower of this man , the main context of his control was to tell everyone what was wrong with them (and what was right with himself and a select few {female} near him).On occasion there would be an attaboy on an individual basis, but a constant deriding of those outside the group and those inside the gates. I have just watched the end of the world cult on channel 4 featuring this rather smart man. i thought lets see what this genuis is up to and i come across this website and i think this is the first time ive left a comment but it boiled my piss so much i needed to say something.

Well, having watched the Channel 4 documentary on Wayne and his group I suppose each to his own - except for the manipulation and sexual exploitation of group members. Having read the post by Mash I just want to add how the control exerted by this man and the reaction of his followers to an obvious gap in his powers over predicting the end of the World or the arrival of his new body are not dis-similar to the actions and reactions in any abusive relationship.

If someone is suffering domestic abuse they will often accept the feeble explanations of the dominator regarding some downfall as they have already been conditioned to believe that the dominator is superior to them and they are too flawed to ever know better. So even without the power of religious guilt and fear a dominator can hold sway for many years even in the face of committing the most blatent wrongs.

However, there is light. Eventually most sufferers become survivors and leave the controlling relationship. The reactions from the controller can vary but most survivors get away and with help manage to have happy lives.

I watched the channel 4 program as well, and needless to say it scared me. Or rather his followers did (a lot more than the man himself). Their expressions were so vacantly, dementedly devotional I actually had to laugh at the time because I didn’t really know how to react to it. The children were worst of all and the way they laughed off everything was chilling. I suppose if you’ve grown up in that kind of community you’d turn out that way but I sincerely wish they’d ’see the light’ as it were and see what’s really going on, though I realise the chances of that are slim if at all.

Michael/Wayne is a very controlling man it really needn’t be said. His small society reminds me of other cults largely because of the large amount of control and the perversity. I watched the documentary and totally agree that these people are, shall we say, lacking in the self determination department. The recent movie about me does seem interesting and truly it trashes me to a very great degree and makes me and the others here all look pretty stupid. If Ben Anthony had told our story the way we told it to him, it might have seemed more reasonable, but he lied on numerous occasions with his voice over, knowing very well he was lying. The end of the world was the biggest lie told. I, or we, NEVER predicted the end of the world on any date. He used his video lineup to make it appear that we did. The very last phone conversation on the video with my son, was edited to make it sound helpful to Ben’s lying. Jeff clearly laid out the issue, but Ben cut that all out of the film. Ben also recorded the phone call without Jeff knowing it. This is illegal in this country. The virgins told me also that Ben twisted their own testimony to look like they were talking about the end of the world.

Granted, we are a pretty strange bunch, but we are soft candy compared to the activities of your own governments. When we get “crazy” according to you, we do harmless things like believe something. When your governments get crazy millions die, as in Iraq and other places. Your society hurts people and puts millions in prison. Your society tortures people and takes them away from their families for years, without charges or even a trial. We have no prisons here. We have no wars, we have no fights, we have no offenses. Why could not one of your better movie makers, Ben Anthony, simply have told the truth?

When interviewing us, which was about 100 hours of taping, he used only 48 minutes. In the interview he told us he would tell our story. Later he told us that he would tell his story and not ours. You might have been given the chance to know our story. That would have been more interesting still, but Ben Anthony hid that part. Hours of testimony by the Two Witnesses was entirely excluded. It sounded too normal. It made sense out of too many things, and Ben did not want reasonableness, he wanted a monster movie.

There’s a show that goes out all over the world called ‘Big Brother’ - Camera’s on 24/7, live streaming on the Internet. Yet the contestants who are voted out always say the show was ‘edited’ to make them look bad. simple truth is - if you didn’t do it or say it they cant show it. Oh, Brian, you are too funny. I really am laughing now. What really happened was that I used to be in your world. Over the years, I could see the harm that your world creates for others. The Father made me very sensitive to someone’s hurt. I began to separate those demonic influences from my life a bit at a time, until we came here.

It truly offends me when I see injustice. My heart is very just and I always want honesty and fairness in everything. Tiss, I think it might help your perspective on this if an allegory were used. I know it seems to you that Michael is making blanket exclusions and implying that everyone but those who are not in his church are bad. But I can assure you that those opinions would only be arrived at by not setting aside the preconceived notions your own society has programmed and enculterated into you, and objectively reading what he is saying.

I cannot say I would entirely condone Michaels actions purely for the lack of consistency and multiple unnecessary sexual acts “God” has required Michael to undertake. But I will say:
