Thanks to The Observer for paying tribute to our Poverty Issue.
Focusing on crime in Nottingham, it looks like The Observer interviewed and photographed the same people we did, and then wrote pretty much the same things that we wrote.
Just compare their intro to ours. Sounds similar, no?
See the kid with the samurai sword? You might recognise him wearing a bandana here. BTW: We hope they got release forms signed by his parents, because when we checked he wasn’t 18.
Later on in the article, the author writes: "Another London magazine has been up in the past, offered them a few hundred quid to get their knives out for some photos, asked them if they can find some guns to pose with."
We can categorically state that we DID NOT offer anybody a few hundred quid to get their knives out.
Hey, we’re not saying that a national newspaper has completely ripped us off. We’re saying imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! Thanks guys!

I can vouch for the fact that Vice is tightfisted and would not pay anyone more than 49 pence for anything

What? its a surprise that Vice is ripped off? Since the whole deal with Vice is that they do everything first its scandalous they don´t get ripped off more…
In fact, it seems like the commenting-forum is a perfect reflection of vice (if just a millionth as funny and eloquent) What with the “First!” and the attempts to shock…
