Dressing the same is always bad but when one of you sucks, it’s twice as shitty.

Fuck you Crass. Leave it to anarchist to squat at a house for 20 years and not have enough money to buy the fucking thing. Your politics are self-rightous masterbatory bullshit. I wouldn’t trust anarchist to serve me luke warm lunch much less run a country.

When I was 16 I was into the new Drug Rock movement that had taken over the Music scene in Austin Texas, bands like the Butthole Surfers and Pain Teens and Bong Water…I was asking my friend what interested him about the hardcore music that he was into, (Bands like Doom and Flux of Pink Indians and Terminal Disgust)… In the early 90’s this Crusty Punk thing was big, and all these hardcore bands were popping up that had screaming vocals with speed drumming double bass, it all sounded like bad Metal to me. The fact that these were singing about being Vegan and Animal Liberation and how much the Government SUCKED and all, it seemed to validate the horrible music they were playing to the punks, which happened to like the horrible music.
So I asked my Friend Byron “what could possibly appeal to you about this stuff?” and he told me “There’s this band Crass from Europe and they all live on a farm in a commune and grow there own food and stuff and pretty much try to live a self sufficient lifestyle…” and I thought wow, that’s cool, no band I ever knew would do something like that! Although now all the Butthole Surfers are heavily into Japanese Gardening and try to out do each other its mostly for ecstatic reasons, which is O.K. in my book. So I checked out Crass,
there music wasn’t the same old grinding hard core, it almost had this Post Punk Arty sound to it with some basic FX mixed in, they sung about feminism for one, and it appealed to me as the word FAG in Texas was used to describe
anything that was not roaring with manliness. I also loved Pennys art work, her collage art and paintings were killer.
I mean they had strong political undertones but that only
gave it more depth and they were realistic politics that seemed somewhat achievable. This band I showed me that Hardcore could be more than just Dude Rock meat head veganism. So Peace to Crass and thanks for the great Pics!

They got an outhouse, so I guess they’re against indoor plumbing too. Toilets are instruments of the capitalist war-mongerers.

It just goes to show that when take ANYTHING too seriously you end up as this horrid cynical thing that doesn’t desearve to be alive. I can’t think of anyone in more need of a Prince album then Crass (and everyone associated with them). These people are more honky/yuppiedfied then the Ragan administration.

Yeah, but the problem with that is you’re basing it on the Crass from the 80s which doesn’t exist anymore. You’re telling them to get over it and move on and they did - years ago. You’re the one stuck in the past. Penny Rimbaud only plays jazz now and would rather die than play a Crass song - EVER.
