Dear Vice,
I was checking out the online dos and don’t s when I noticed something familiar. A little while back I took a photo of this dude in a bar in LA while drunk. When I looked through my pics the next day I was like, "Who the hell is this guy?" But then I saw him in the Do’s and it all made sense. This guy is just screaming for anyone to take a picture of him!

It should be noted here that South Africans (UCT sweater) acually dress like that normally, as in not to invite photos. There’s some weird cross-over between Swiss Alphorn boy and South African student that is completely commonplace down there. A little explanation helps here. A South African’s day is spent dodging the rampant reverse racism of poorly dressed/scantily clad township folk and the aggressive pan-handling of Berghis, people who sleep in the forests at the foot of Cape Town’s mountains and wear garbage bags and tissue boxes for shoes. They also haven’t completely severed their tie with the Dutch, who were never the purveyors of sartorial sensicality in the first place. So yeah, this guy might not realize what a weiner he looks like and is just out for a quiet, private beer.

Nice explanation, apart from the weiner call, he looks good. The smile carries him a long way.

HAHAHA you said “reverse racism” Sky. Does that mean they walk up and give them hugs because they are white? Oh wait, that would still be racism. So what’s the reverse?
May 24th, 2006
That would be inverse racism, or ‘not-racism’ as you yourself pointed out. Reverse racism is when, after 40 years of white on black racism, the tables have turned and the government in power is all-black

this guy’s ahistorical
I love it

I think what you mean to call it is positive discrimination. “Reverse racism” is just a thing for stupid people to say. Since racism just means a discrimination on the basis of race and doesn’t imply a negative or postive conitation. Blacks being racist towards whites is still racism, not the reverse of it.

these are fascinating insights into south african social conditions and all, but this guy is from, like, Hancock Park or something.
