Since everyone around the VICE office wears desert boots or brogues (or heels, for the ladies), we were a little surprised when adidas asked us to design a pair of sneakers for them and their adicolor line. But, fuck it - we did it. We used the logo for our pub in London (The Old Blue Last) for the graphics, and had the shoe made out of white denim, with VICE Pink (the color of our headlines in the mag) for the sole. Then we got adidas to make us a white denim jacket with the pub’s logo embroidered really big on the back, so that you can see what a genius Jeneleen Capper is (she designed the logo).
Here’s an interview with Gavin, explaining the idea behind the shoe and jacket - plus there’s a link to a video adidas had done, with Jenna Jameson in it. The whole thing is coming out in May in Europe, Asia and Australia and is perfect for summer. Except in Australia, where it’s perfect for winter.

I thought being a “do” was about *not* trying. This whole deal here is def “trying.”
The shitty thing about publishing a critical anything is that, while not everyone can remember all of your inconsistencies all of the time, when you put your shit in front of 4,000,000,000+ people someone somwhere is going to wake up out of their alcoholic haze long enough to call you on something. (innit?)
