Terms and Conditions 2009

1. The ‘Stories of the Eye’ Photography Project (“the Project’) is organised by Vice (“the Company”) on behalf of Olympus. The Project aims to encourage photographers to submit their photographs (“The Entry”) centred on the Olympus themes of ‘Style’, ‘Travel’, ‘London’ and ‘I do what I like’.

2. Olympus and Vice will have the worldwide exclusive right in perpetuity to exhibit or to authorise the exhibition of the Entry or any part of the Entry at any time and in any media for the purposes of the Project.

3. Winning photographers will work with Vice who will produce the photographs. Vice will be responsible for managing the budget on behalf of the Company and delivering the completed photographs to them.

4. Selected entrants consent to being filmed, interviewed and recorded by the Company and its’ media partners where required for the Project and for any films or recordings made to be used for all purposes of the Project at any time in any media in perpetuity.

5. The Company reserves the right to refuse any Entry to the Project for any reason at its absolute discretion.

6. The decisions of the judges are final. Neither correspondence nor discussion concerning any decision shall be entered into.

7. Entrants warrant to the Company:
i. The Entry submitted is their own, original work.
ii. The Entry will not infringe the copyright or any other rights of any third party.
iii. The entrant must be the sole lawful owner of any copyright in the Entry.
iv. The entrant possesses all necessary rights to grant the Company the licence described in clause 2 above.
v. There is no agreement with any other person that shall any way interfere with any rights granted to the Company hereunder.
vi. Entries are not by law defamatory, obscene profane or pornographic nor contain materials which discloses private or personal matters or personal data concerning any person without such person’s written consent material nor contain any message, data or images that would violate the intellectual property rights of others including unauthorised copyright text, music, images or programs, trade secrets or other confidential proprietary information or trade marks used in an infringing fashion.

8. The description of the awards prizes and selection process in any Project literature or other medium is not binding and may be varied by the Company if appropriate to do so. There is no cash alternative available.

9. Entrants must be 18 years or over.

10. The Company reserves the right to seek and issue publicity on behalf of entrants.

11. Acceptance of these rules is a condition of entry and receipt of an Entry by the Company amounts to acceptance of the rules.

12. Entries are made at an entrant’s own expense and the Company shall not be liable to reimburse any expenses incurred in making an Entry.

13. Unless specifically stated unsuccessful entrants will not be contacted by the Company due to the large number of entries anticipated
