Until recently, MILES BENJAMIN ANTHONY ROBINSON has been one of Brooklyn's best-kept secrets, but with the release of his debut album and the help of some of his better known friends that seems likely to change. He took from his shabby surroundings the inspiration and imagery that make up his debut record- an album filled with unrepentant confessions and takes the listener through a sardonic narrative, detailing loss, excess and blurred memories.

The band drive every creative aspect, visually and musically. They recorded their first singles in their bedroom- Austere and Cradle and their 8 track CD 'A Balloon called Moaning' - a defiant release of optimism against their own heavy hearts.

Acclaimed by the likes of MOJO, Q, The Guardian and Rocksound, The PHANTOM BAND make like a Glaswegian Super Furry Animals; making a noise that collects a rabble of sounds and remoulds them into brand new, uber-brave pop. The music makes shapes that fizz with energy and chaos like a scientists with too many ideas and not enough time. It's like Krautrock, The Fall, folk and The Velvet Underground all in one big pot.

WHITE DENIM's songs are borne of experience and doubt. The skipping country-rock, the heartfelt songs and gentle and moody Shuggie-style soul music, details relationships that can't succeed. Influences range from the early works of Funkadelic, to seventies Brazilian pop, and it shows. There are more elements of jazz and soul than previously and the vocals sit in the mix rather than on top, like another instrument. The playing is clever without being ostentatious and there is an overflow of melodic hooks.
