As we’ve already mentioned, Vice Presents is happening on the 18th of December. Tickets are disappearing, so best to get yours here before they’re gone for good. We decided to have a chat to Lags from Gallows about how he feels about the lifetime highlight we’ve offered his band by allowing them to headline our event. Click on for that and a few videos of the last couple of times Gallows laid waste to the Old Blue Last.

MUMDANCE HAS GIVEN US A MIX AND A REMIX, AND HE HAS INVENTED A NEW GENRE
Once upon a time Mumdance was simply known as plain old Jack Adams and he used to book events and nights for us at The Old Blue Last. Nowadays though he has forgotten all about little old us and has become a superstar DJ. Literally. Just look at his MySpace page – the upcoming shows list looks like the itinerary for Around the World In 80 Days. He’s also decided to invent his own genre, which he’s calling “kerplunk”. This is not a joke. Click on to hear his remix of Maximo Park’s “Let’s Get Clinical”, which is without a doubt the first attempt at nailing the kerplunk aesthetic anywhere ever. Jack’s also kindly supplied us with a whole mix that he recently put together with a bunch of folks like Jammer and C-Gritz all over it.
Feeling Crucial…
…if so, be sure to be at The Old Blue Last on Monday night. 80s Japanese hardcore-thrash survivors Crucial Section will be playing a rarer than rare UK show. Not to be missed, once in a lifetime opportunity, etc. Seriously though. Support comes from Wigan punks Bail-Bond and Deptford thrashers Colt Seavers. Entry is only a fiver and there are no advance tickets because using Ticketmaster isn’t very punk is it? So, be there early or judging by last month’s Insect Warfare show you won’t get in at all. Click on for details and a video of what to expect. Read more »
NOISY SEXY PARISIANS AT THE OLD BLUE LAST
No-wave digi-punk squealers Kap Bambino like getting in people’s faces. So, if you would like them to be in your face as well as in your ears then you should come down to The Old Blue Last and blow away all those Halloween cobwebs tomorrow night. Support comes from New Yawkers Hello Sunshine and the whole shebang is a paltry fiver. Because everyone likes free stuff though, if you click through we have a track that you can download for nowt as well as all the relevant informations.
South East in the Old Blue Last
The kids behind Off Modern, who put on great parties in the darkest depths of south London, have decided to venture out of their spiritual home to put on a whole weekend of good stuff in a bit of town more often than not saturated with mediocrity. Which is nice. Sunday sees a day of great bands and drinking at the Old Blue Last. Acts include Publicist (aka Ian Svenonius and Seb from Trans AM doing disco-funk), Teenagers in Tokyo, Dollop DJs, and even that guy Ali Love. And you don’t have to go to work on Monday so no excuses. Read on for the full skinny.
This is the Summer Of Hate
If you are smart and solvent enough to live in London, then last night you’d have been at The Old Blue Last to see the first ever UK show by two guys who used to be in The Plot To Blow Up The Eifel Tower. Just joshing around, Crocodiles are great if you are into reverb soaked garage pop and if you haven’t heard of them yet then this must be the first time you have ever looked at the internet. How’s that working out for you? I know the pop-ups are a bit annoying, and Twitter doesn’t make any sense, but Google Maps is a total Godsend. Click on for a free Crocodiles track.
Saturday night sex
It is a Bank Holiday weekend so you have zero excuse not to be out on Saturday. In fact, don’t even think of it as Saturday. It’s just another Friday. Sunday is Saturday and Monday is Sunday. Got it? This way you get to work on Tuesday and have the glorious realisation that Friday is a whole day closer. Anyway, there is no better way to spend a ‘Friday’ night than in the safe hands of the Sexbeat guys at The Old Blue Last.
