People normally use words like “cabal” and “coven” to describe groups of women – gaggle seems like a cooler word though. There are 22 members of Gaggle – London’s only sci-fi riot choir, but they all bend to the will of their head chorister, Coughlin, who used to be in 586 and apparently once got sued by The Slits. Normally enormous bands like I’m From Barcelona and The Polyphonic Spree are awful groups for families at festivals, or foreign students who haven’t grasped cynicism yet, but this gang of 22 aren’t that kind of happy cult.
