Drink more Diet Cola
Diet Cola are a synth-punk band from Napierville, Ontario, formed in 2006. Since then they have released just one EP, I guess because Josh from the band also plays in Deerhunter (heard of them?). The music itself is more reminiscent of his other band, SIDS, Jay Reatard ’s old band Lost Sounds, Total Control or old synth-punk acts like The Units. Their sound is one of raw, visceral noise – like how Dan Deacon might sound if he ditched the tie-dye, quit pretending he lived in a Wes Anderson flick, and joined a punk band. I wish more of the so-called P.O.S.T. P.U.N.K. London hipster bands got their substance-over-style ratio on a par with these guys.
