A FIST IN THE FACE OF GOD - BLACK BREATH

Taking their name from a Repulsion track and hailing out of Seattle, Black Breath play something as close to real metal as it gets these days. Touching on black, death, thrash, hardcore, d-beat, and influenced by the likes of Bathory, Poison Idea, Celtic Frost, Sacrilege, Anti-Cimex and Discharge, it’s a sound worth getting excited about. HAIRCUTS ARE THE NEW JOURNALISM

What is it with hairdressing at the moment? Firstly Spike Jonze cut Shane’s hair and now we’ve stuck The So So Glos in a barber’s chair to talk to them and filmed it. We better be careful or its going to get totally played out, we’ll need to think of a new hook, like talking to people while they shop for pets or while they visit their ex-wives. A Swedish Jazz-Improv Singer Who Sings All Crazy

Our new favorite singer is Lindha Kallerdahl, a Swedish chanteuse who combines pretty, quiet singing with these improvisational vocal stylings that, honestly, we’re having a hard time describing. It’s like a little bit of every kind of sound that a person can make. Shrieking, wailing, hiccupping, yodeling, warbling, chirping, burping, sneezing, panting, grunting, etc., etc. If you tried to transcribe it, it would be like: “Goo-ree! Goo-ree! Hup! Heeee! Lalalalala-leeeeee-aaaaah-ooooooh-eeeee, heep-hoop! Sha la la lup dup dup DOOP! Bleega bleega kooweep!” Stuff like that.
