Following the success of the first in the Trapped Under Vice mix series by resident Fist in the Face of God mix-maker Fenriz back in July, we have the highly anticipated second installment of the series, imaginatively titled Trapped Under Vice Vol. II. In stark contrast to the style of the first volume, I wanted a style I know virtually nothing about. So I asked Fenriz for a collection of the stuff that had inspired the people who had inspired him to make music. Anyways, here is the intro from the man himself. Take it away, Fenriz.
Welcome to a time travel to the rock of 1968-1978, all across the globe from Iceland to Australia.
Last year I already made the ultimate journey in that time frame and space, but Dylan [Rockwell] wanted another one – so this is the reason why bands like Coven, High Tide, James Gang, Atomic Rooster, Horse or Buffalo are left
out here. Only the track “Jesus Freaks” has been repeated on both compilations.
There is no specific theme to this, but, being me, it is a little on the HEAVY side, hehe. ENJOY THE AUTUMN!!!
TRACK LISTING:
1. Fever Tree (USA) ‘Filigree & Shadow’ (1968)
2. Ice Cross (Iceland) ‘Jesus Freaks’ (1978)
3. Caravan (UK) ‘Cecil Rons’ (and it’s RONS not RUNS) (1968)
4. Gun (UK) ‘Race with the Devil’ (1968)
5. Spooky Tooth (UK) ‘Better by You, Better Than Me’ (1969)
6. Lucifer’s Friend (Germany/UK) ‘Lucifer’s Friend’ (1970)
7. Cactus (USA) ‘Parchman Farm’ (1970)
8. Scorpion (USA) ‘Take A Look At Yourself’ (1969)
9. Sit Lord Baltimore (USA) ‘Lady of Fire’ (1970)
10. Black Widow (UK) ‘In Ancient Days’ (1970)
11. The Open Mind (UK) ‘Thor, the Thunder God’ (1969)
12. Flax (Norway) ‘Demon in Your Heart’ (1976)
13. Lobby Loyde & The Coloured Balls (Australia) ‘Human Being’ (1973)
14. Amon Düül II (Germany) ‘Archangel [Live]‘ (1975)
15. Jane (Germany) ‘Janesession’ (1975)
16. Black Oak Arkansas (USA) ‘When Electricity Came to Arkansas [Live] (1973)
Again, I started with a leftfield-ish track to throw off the posers.

Thanks again to Fenriz for everything, and also to Jim Fitzpatrick for the amazing artwork. He designed the Che logo that they put on t-shirts in Primark these days, you know. If you would like to download the mix, please click here.

There’s an “unexpected end of archive” error corrupting the download from Mediafire, so many people won’t be able to open it and enjoy the tunes. PLEASE FIX!!!

I didn’t get the error… get a MAC you Windows 7 fascists! LOL (j/k)
Interesting compilation, I don’t see this as out of the ordinary for Fenriz since he has an encyclopedic knowledge and awareness of music. Even cooler would be to see a book - a comprehensive one - from Fenriz on relevant music. Writing this hoping that this idea is not a new one, eh? Make it so.
