And once again, mortals, another shank of Brazilian deathrash for you I have. This time sharpen your swords to the necrophiliac blast beats of Sextrash.
Sextrash were formed originally as Insulter in 1986 (under which they recorded one demo), before changing their name in ‘87. The combination of the drumming prowess of Sarcófago’s D.D. Crazy alongside Pussy Ripper’s intensely lupine vocals makes this one of the most brutal things out there – but with a melodious undercurrent too. I love how in the above picture they’re all hanging out by the bar all long-haired and rapey-looking (except for the short-haired guy peering into his oversized brandy glass of beer). The track below, “Psychoneurosis”, is taken off their 1990 debut album, Sexual Carnage. (It was between this and “Alcoholic Mosh” but since I don’t drink anymore…)
Sextrash disbanded in ‘97 following to the death of co-founding member Pussy Ripper in a motor vehicle accident but decided to reform in 2003, opening for Kreator in Brazil in 2005. They also re-signed to Brazil’s own Cogumelo Records, who put out their most recent release, Rape From Hell. And judging by their MySpace headline (”Bitches, where are you? We want your pussy!!!”), the sex thrash continues…

Pussy Ripper is definitely the kind of dude girls want to take home to their fathers. “Dad, Pussy Ripper. Pussy Ripper, Dad.”
