Welcome to the first installment of our regular celebrity-enriched album review column, Stars and Their Ears. Here’s the lowdown: we give an album to a celebrity, they listen to it and then review it for us.
Today, James Corden tackles a collaboration LP between Norwegian noise overlord Lasse Marhaug and gauche Swedish-Israeli musician Dror Feiler, out now on No Fun. Go here to listen to some clips and, if you like what you hear, buy it.
Hiya!!! It’s the fat one from Gavin & Stacey here! You’ll probably be very familiar with my annoying bloated gob and my tranny-esque sidekick’s leathery face because we are on every TV channel constantly. I am desperate to get as much attention as possible before people come to their senses and realise I am just a painfully unfunny fat guy on a staggeringly overrated comedy programme, so when Vice asked me to review this CD I jumped at the chance.
Enough about me, let’s talk about the CD (briefly). This album is out on a label called No Fun, which is ironic because that is the exact opposite of what I am. I am very fun. I am all fun. I am all man. I like to fuck. Please have sex with me. Only joking – I’m a Christian, remember!
So, Vice told me this album would be a little weird, which I thought would be fine since I once bought a CD which had mistakenly been left in the alternative section of Zavvi, but this stuff is just weird. I don’t mean Radiohead weird, I mean really weird. Matthew would definitely not play this CD at his trendy east London club night!! And that’s saying something because he plays some right shit! (Only joking, Matt! Ha ha!) It sounds worse than when I take my shirt off and Matt pulls his trousers down and does a big fart on my belly! It doesn’t smell as bad as that though. Phew! That guy has some of the worst bowel excretions known to man. He only eats crab meat and gherkins.
Seriously though, this stuff is really scary to listen to. It’s even more scary than my new film with my best mate Matthew Horne, Lesbian Vampire Killers, out now in some cinemas. The end. Bye!!!
As told to PRANCEHALL

He’s so fit. What a funny, crazy and wacky guy.
He’s what Steve Martin/John Cleese/Eddie Murphy/Kenny Everett/Larry David COULD have been.

Sometimes reading the comments on viceland is better than telly.
Mostly because all that’s on telly is Corden, Sidekick and Goody.

this was way harsh. Lets look at the reasons why…
1- this guys movie was crap and nobody went to it (apparently)
2- this guys sketch show was crap and nobody watched it.(apparently)
3- this guys comedy show has only got one series left.
4- he’s fat, ugly, and (apparently) a sexual bully that is leveraging his ’success’ to root decent looking femmes (who must rush to the shower afterwards.
5- he is 18months away from being a davro/dennis/cheggers type saddo.
So cmon vice, cut him some slack, sure he’s a twat on a downward spiral, but there’s no need to rub it in.

A tad ironic that Vice’s dig at woefully unfunny comedy is itself woefully unfunny. Much like Horne and Cordon, this piece appears to have been written by a pre-pubescent schoolboy. Got to do better if you really want to be culturally relevant.

“this piece appears to have been written by a pre-pubescent schoolboy”
ehhh that might be cos its in the style of an unfunny fat man. i liked it. struggle to figure out how some people could think it was a genuine piece though.

It’s not often I endorse anything done in Vice and I’m not going to now. I agree with porkchop on Corden however I did go and see ‘Telstar’ and I thought he was brilliant in that, perhaps he is more suited to period performance roles.
