Hello again, here I am with another song for you to enjoy and twiddle your thumbs to and stuff. This time I’ve gone for a song by super kraut band Can.
The song is called “Animal Waves” and it is probably the last truly great song by Can. By this point Damo Suzuki was long gone and Holger Czukay was soon to leave the band after the release of the album Saw Delight, which this track is taken from. Can brought in percussionist Reebop Kwaku Baah and bassist Rosko Gee from British psych/prog band Traffic to add a jazzy, Afro sound that is clearly evident on the track. Combined with the hypnotic bass lines, this all adds up to a 15-minute long epic and a classic piece of kosmiche music.
