90年代後半、このホテルはドバイで最も高い建築のうちの1つだった。今ではかろうじて100位にランクインするかどうかってカンジだけど、このホテルには、太陽光を反射する次世代素材“レイノボンド・アルミ・コンポジット材”や、１年での工事の完成も可能とする建材“カラーウエルド 300 コーティング・レイノボンド・パネル”のような次世代建築材が採用されている。ビルの過熱を防止するために超巨大な冷却施設が近くに建設されたが、800メートルほど離れたところに設置されたため、このせいでホテルの雰囲気がブチ壊し、ってのだけは免れている。
