ANCORA AFFAMATI

Foto e Styling: Jamie-James Medina

I like Noorshaw's shirt. I'll gladly trade her a club sandwich for it.

guess what? there is nothing wrong with the color of these children, photographically speaking. look again-this is a true record of the color of skin. brilliant photos, by the way.

hey man, im like so in to your shoot but what happened to the colour, your colour is never out when you shoot for the observer, this has to be the fact that vice normally prints such crap that they dont even proof colours?..btw im betting everything i own this is shot on film. if you have clue what you are talking about you might notice film grain in the photos

this person does not know how to color balance photographs and therefore all of them suck- and no that is not a trite comment for a supposed "fashion" shoot.

ok, what the fuck is up with the color in the pictures? i know they are digital, but why dont you do some fucking color correction already? theres no such thing as purple, orange, and green children. unless they are dead.

ok

exploit? no...
It's clever. It's meant to garner up attention by appearing exploitative, but pokes fun at that idea that by merely being destitute that your not allowed to partake in the bullshit of fashion or consumerism or whatever.

But does it do anything of measureable good? It's going to make fun of people who will scream how horrible these pictures are because of their inbred phony compassion...but why bother doing that?

They do nothing good or bad. They look pretty.

You fucking wankers, listen to yourselves.

"is it ethical to use these kids?"

"I feel dirty just looking at this page."

Do you think the vice photographers are somehow exploiting these kids? Jesus Christ, feel bad for them because they're destitute, not because they're wearing brand name clothing.

The sheer absence of logic that would have to go into thinking that this fashion spread is exploiting them is astounding. Do you imagine that Vice forced or coerced them into wearing those clothes for the pictures? Were they tricked? Was it somehow against their better interest?

If anything it helped by stirring you compassionate souls to do something to help.

Since you did give money to some charity that exists for that purpose, or volunteer some of your time, right?

if you can get clothes to fit druggie models can you not tailor them to fit these kids? or did this writer stuff a couple of his t-shirts into a bag and charge a childhood musing to Vice.

note to Vice: loved the paragraph loved the pictures but want fashion. the fashion section is getting ridiculous its just a section for chicks with no clothes poor kids who can't fit into the clothes and people who look ridiculous in the clothes cause they can’t obviously afford them. Maybe I’m not irrelevantly cool enough to get it but for real now the dos AND don’t section is better for fashion than this irrelevantly cool waste of time

I'm all for fun and all, but this page is a little disturbing. Like, I dunno, is it ethical to use these kids? Then again who's to say that they can't pose for fashion photos just because they are poor? At least it's interesting.

do you feel 'dirty' about these kids making the clothes you wear for a pay of about 2p a day?

would you prefer if you never had to see the reality of the squalor many people live in?

if you genuinely feel so bad, why don't you go and donate some money to cahrity to help these kids?

i think this feature is amazing - no other magazine would do this.

I think the proverbial "they" should kill all those little brown kids and use them for food.

Somewhere between Swift's "A Modest Proposal" and Soylent Green.

Stupid poverty stricken sweatshop orphans owned by Phil Knight.

But you wish you had my PS2.

these pictures made a lump in my throat, after working since 11am sunday mornin and coming home fucking drunk at two oclock on monday mornin. this is pretty grim. i dont think its a bad thing to show us these pictures, it just made me realise i work so easy for a lot of money.......i dont really think i want to say anything silly after that, like most of the other text do.

Have a bunch of sweatshop workers wear the clothes they make in a fashion shoot-

or is this already one? they make a lot of clothes in bangladesh dont they? I probably saw that in Colors or something. oh well.

Hey Jamie,

That's insane. I think this is by far the best quasi fashion shoot I have seen. Good job mate.

it's a cycle that's hard to escape. like the children of the corn: when you're busy trying to survive, who cares about fashion or nutrition? bourgeouse concerns for spoiled elite.

It would have been a tad more clever if the starving Bangladeshi children were holding polaroids of the of the food-monsters fashion shoot.
