The church he's talking about-started by Joel's dad-it's in the old Compaq Center where the Rockets played and I saw my first concert (The Cure Disintegration Tour). Joel took over and made it even more huge. It isn't about 'Jesus rocks' so much, as it is about Joel Osteen being a charismatic motherfucker.
I'm a social worker as well,Brendan (direct care w/ special needs kids). I don't like the 'noble' tag either, but I stopped waiting for the world to chip in a long time ago. Finally, someone who says what I have been thinking, but have not formulated into paragraph. I am tired of this self centered world, as a social worker I clean up all of the shit left behind by a generation of self centered pricks and assholes. People say "you are a social worker that is so noble", fuck you I am not noble, I am doing the work that you guys should have done a long time ago. All of your protesting got you nowhere, it is time for you guys to start chipping in and thinking about the world not yourselves.
