There are too damn many uncared-for furry little darlings in the first place, but it's pretty bad form for a loony-magnet like PETA to be killing them off. Curious, I went to petakillsanimals.com and saw it's run by a group sponsored by Berman & Co., a company started by lobbyist Richard Berman.
A front group that's pushing smoker's rights, red meat consumption, and keeping a high legal blood-alcohol level doesn't sound like a bunch of bastards -- they sound like my friends. But they're also fighting for pesticides, gengineering and acceptance of high mercury levels in fish, and they don't give a damn about how much fun I'm having -- just where my dollars go while I do.
Meanwhile, I'm gonna go have a burger and a few beers while I kick myself for taking anything in VICE too seriously and completely missing the point.
