“One of my favourite things is to be lost in a place that I have never been before. As long as I have my camera I know I will find my way around. About four years ago, my parents moved back to Russia and for me it was the beginning of a journey into the sparkling modern bubble of post-communism. Jumping back and forth between the glamour of the Nouveau-Riche and the romance of Soviet nostalgia makes me want to preserve the people I encounter in their beautiful surroundings. It could be anywhere: fancy children’s birthday parties, grocery markets or beach resorts. I don’t want to forget these legends.”
