JONNIE CRAIG - PART 1
These pictures are of my friends Nick, Charlotte and Andy. They were taken on a Holga medium format camera that cost me £25 from eBay. I go to a photography college in South London and it annoys me because everybody walks around posing with expensive digital SLRs, taking photos of their friends partying and not taking the course seriously!
Anyway, I decided to shoot black and white to highlight features of the body and to focus attention on the subject. Shooting was manic: each time a car came down the country lane we were shooting in, we had to dart into the car, all naked, to avoid being seen by the oncoming driver. One driver actually stopped and asked if we had broken down, and seemed quite confused by what we were doing. This set is dedicated to Ryan McGinley, an incredible photographer who has been such a huge help to me. Also, Nick, Charlotte and Andy for getting naked and risking their lives!
