Spanish crusties are everywhere in London at the moment and they’re looking FABULOUS. At the Insect Warfare show at the Old Blue Last we had dogs on strings sitting on bar stools, ordering pints. Sometimes, you'll know a British band by how they make something poetic out of their experience of living in the UK. It could be Blur's Britain, or Pete Doherty's Albion, but you'll usually notice that their songs find some way to romanticise what is essentially a small, rainy country where summer lasts ten days....
Daniel Treacy has been missing in action for a while. Back in the 70s and 80s, his group The Television Personalities wrote classic, funny songs like "Part Time Punks" and "I Know Where Syd Barrett Lives", but the past few years of homelessness and drug addiction haven't been quite so kind to him.
