DOS & DON'TS

You know 500 years from now some asshole is going to think this is what people in the 20th century looked like. It's like how we take the entire middle ages and go, "Oh yeah, they were a bunch of dickhead knights." Comments/Enlarge | See all

I don’t know about exploring the inner workings of the universe with E. The first couple of hours can be great but how about the last three hours of lying in bed a day later with the fear, frantically trying to jerk off to lessen the pain? Comments/Enlarge | See all

EDITORIAL

Vice editorial internships offer real-world work experience for qualified candidates looking to be plunged headfirst and drown in the day-to-day operations of making a magazine. We expect our editorial interns to be serious and vigilant when completing their assigned tasks, whether it be research, copyediting, general assistance, taking out the trash, organizing the filing cabinet, or (if you’re lucky) writing.

English and journalism students are strongly preferred, however, anyone with a strong command of the English language and a willingness to work extremely hard for little glory will be considered. Please apply via email to editinternship@viceland.com with a resume, PUBLISHED writing samples (that aren’t from your personal blog), and a short note explaining why you believe Vice is the right place for you to work for free. If you are lazy, a weakling, annoying, prone to using Facebook at work, complacent, or a member of the culture of complaint, please do not bother applying for this position. We’re looking for self-motivated and drama-free individuals.

Internship candidates must be 20 years old or over, willing to work eight-hour days at least two days a week (preferably more), and available for an in-person interview at our Brooklyn offices. You also must own a functioning laptop. These terms are not flexible. Interns are not paid, however, we do offer course credit for students.

VICELAND BLOG

Here at VICE we are currently accepting and reviewing people for an unpaid internship in our online editorial department. This is not a technical position, but knowledge of html and the general blogging world at large is required. More about the position:

-A commitment of at least three days per week from about 10 AM to 6 PM for at least three months.
-Must have laptop.
-Must be proficient with transcriptions, general writing and grammar, typing and the internet.
-Must have working knowledge of basic to mid-level html, plus competence with digital cameras, scanners, and Photoshop.

Start date is flexible. How long you've been a fan of the magazine isn't really that important; however, knowledge of what we make here is favorable. Duties may sometimes seem rote yet are extremely important. This may include running errands, searching for images, data input, and suchlike. You might write sometimes, too. No one weird. Most importantly you must be self-motivated, responsible, and an independent thinker. All interested candidates should please respond to liza@viceland.com with ONLINE EDITORIAL INTERNSHIP in the subject line, plus resume, cover letter, and up to three relevant blog links and/or published writing samples.

-Must have a laptop. Digital camera or cell phone with email access is also a plus.
-Must be proficient with transcriptions, general writing and grammar, typing and the internet.

-Must be willing to work late nights and weekends. This does not happen often but occasionally shoots do occur at those times.

If you are interested email your resume and cover letter to annette@viceland.com with FASHION INTERNSHIP in the subject line.
