Sure, I may be a Fashion Week novice, but I know a good thing when it hits me in the camera lens: Qasimi’s A/W 09 collection struck a perfect balance between drama and defilé. Shown in a church in Marylebone with opera in the background, the immaculately tailored Victorian gothica outfits borrowed as much from The Matrix as they did from Tim Burton movies.
Apparently my press pass isn’t next level enough to get me into the super important shows, so I spent last night outside the Vivienne Westwood show at Kensington Olympia. But that’s fine, I can guess what was happening inside (alternative models, tartan, edgy reworkings of a classic English look, safety pins, Alice Dellal, nods to Viv’s punk days…) and besides, everyone knows that the real party is outside.
