James Jeanette is a tranny who knows a thing or two about fashion, and he’s just opened his own store, Jennette’s. He first found fame wearing skintight rubber Gareth Pugh dresses when he used to man the door at Boombox and all those other places that fashion people go to feel cool. A Scottish-born council estate boy, Jeanette is from Aberdeen, just like Annie Lennox, who he dressed up as once at a fashion big-wig’s cross-dressing-themed birthday party. That kind of sealed his fate as an icon because a cross-dresser cross-dressing as a cross-dresser = fashion hero. He held the launch party on Tuesday. It ruled.
