Fashion students aren’t all thick

Dean Kissick studies art at London’s Royal College of Art, the world’s only post grad only art school, in June the RCA will present their MA shows and one or two designers will get mad love on the web, but Dean reckons he knows who we should check out already. Here are his picks of his most talented contemporaries, what a kiss arse.

LIAM EVANS

Liam says he was raised by ravens in the rolling hills of the Shropshire countryside, and often likes to pretend he’s a llama, pawing at the ground and spitting at people. His makes mostly dark and perverse leather stuff for chicks.

LUIS LOPEZ-SMITH

Luis is a cuddly but moody Welsh bear-child who went to school with the Anglesey vampire killer before studying fashion. He calls his look Napoleonic streetwear and made this YouTube clip where three superstar perfume heroes defeat a three-headed fashion monster…

ZOE DONALD

Petulant Chinese/Scottish princess Zoe has struggled to adapt to living amongst poor people in South London, but still makes an effort to dress up nicely for visits to her local café in Camberwell. Zoe says her collection is inspired by “Turbeville girls lost in a Yves Tanguy landscape, fragmented, overgrown and pieced back together.” Which is sure to be an important look this autumn.

MATTHEW MILLER

Miller is a northerner from Stoke with a swagger and a head the size of an orange. Once he chased us through London at dawn with a dead pigeon, which was horrible. He bases his designs on macabre stuff like bones.
