Most of the time when Vito Fun sends us clumps of photos, the overarching theme is what a seasoned Jimmy-Breslin-style news veteran would refer to as “something you can hang your hat on.” Like people’s dumb tattoos. Or people’s dumb sleep faces. You know, real regular-shit stuff.
However, for every tenth or so post of straight thingiana that comes down the tube, Vito slips one in to which our natural response is an earnest “How’s your brain?” Such a 10 percenter is “Free Candy.” We asked Vito if he could provide us with a little context for these shots and he sez:
Given the option to shoot in one of Seattle’s most prestigious mansions, Vito Fun and his partner Jessica Resler were faced with a challenge; how weird can they make their shoot? A few phone calls yielded the Burlesque costumes of Jamie Von Stratton and Jessica’s father and his drinking buddies. They dressed the old men up as giant pieces of sweaty candy–Free Candy. Don’t take candy from strangers.
