A PLUG FOR PLUG

plugPlug are two girls, one who plays drums and one who plays bass and keyboard. They both sing. Make sure you don’t get them confused with each other or with Plugs, the distinctly average synth band formed by one member of meathead electro bores Does it Offend You, Yeah?. I guess he decided that singing in possibly the worst band to emerge during the recent electro revival (apart from Hadouken!) wasn’t worth the meagre wage he probably received.

This Plugs sound something like Delta 5 or, at least in attitude, the Slits: sparse, driven, shouty post-punk of a calibre that is unfortunately not as common nowadays as it used to be. I saw them play last night and they ruled, so I recommend you get down to the nearest basement they are shouting in when you can. Their new single is out now on Parlour Records, and has a picture of the Dalai Lama on the cover. The track below is the A-side.

Ow my ears. I liked em better when they were called The Shaggs. That drummer needs to be shot. How does tone deaf garbage like this get its own feature on vice?

you forgot to mention “the plugz”; the greatest LA mexi-cholo-surf-punk band evarrrr! they played shows with black flag and the ilk, recorded a couple of songs that were on the repo man soundtrack and then vanished. its a shame because the few recorded songs of theirs are truly amazing
