This is a Brittle Star which belongs to the Class Ophiuroidea. With their scary tentacles and the disk thing / scary Cyclops face in the middle, they look like something out of a Sunn O))) promo video. There are more than 2,000 species of these little fuckers worldwide in all shapes and sizes. This guy cost £10 from the Aquatic Centre in Harlow. You have to feed it dead stuff, which adds to the creepiness factor. We’re going to buy some tomorrow and put them in the office to scare the interns. |
